I was very impressed, many people miss the Amphibian talks at Slimbridge but they bring out a few species from the many behind the scenes to show an audience, which is how I saw the Natterjack Toad, Fire Salamander and Common Midwife Toad :)

Nice to know that those North American rarities are still at the Oceanario, seven years after my visit to it.

Two nice rarities not present when I visited last year!

On a side note, did you take photos of the new Pallas's Cat enclosure? Also were the Red-Knobbed Imperial-Pigeons on-exhibit?

Did not get any exhibit pictures of it, but its basically the old hornbill exhibit with a small nighthouse on the left side and plenty of rocks. Sadly their are still other cats indoors, so not really an improvement on their part. The pigeons were on display in the aviary. Gonna post a few more observations in the zoos thread.

I accidentally counted the horned frog twice - but, in turn, I forgot the African dwarf clawed frog, Hymenochirus boettgeri, from Bronx, so my overall total to date is the same.

Did anyone get a chance to visit Slimbridge during this period? I only saw this yesterday. Two weeks is a very short time...

Went today - after a break of 4 years - to Reptielenhuis De Aarde in Breda. Had little hope to find new species for the Challenge because last time I visited there was just 1 amphibian-species - the Cane toad. This species is still being kept but I had already seen it earlier this year. In one of the enclosures - in which last time a Blue-tongued skink was kept - I saw a species which counts for the Challenge ( althrough I also had seen this species already earlier this year - at a reptile-fair ) :

I picked up a few more species at Currumbin today. Unfortunately (and rather frustratingly) I didn’t see any species at the ’Frog Conservation and Research Facility’ due to poor viewing (foggy windows).
