I don't have a photo, but I'm pretty sure it did. Certainly it said Madagascan not False.

Of course, all three species of Dyscophus are endemic to Madagascar :p so erratic signage cannot be ruled out. I'll see if I have signage shots!

Note: I'm subtracting one from my overall total because now I have seen a second Pipa species I am not comfortable just assuming the one I saw at Sumida was Pipa pipa. Hopefully I'll pick it up again later.

The most interesting species kept here are White-Footed Mouse, Chinese King Quail, Thayer's Kingsnake, Asian Leaf Turtle, Ornate Box Turtle, and Fowler's Toad. I discovered the place yesterday and visited thinking it'd be an Audubon nature preserve-type place with some live animals. Turns out it's just a small building on a main street with two exhibit rooms; one for mammals and birds, and one for reptiles and amphibians.

Great visit, I have seen a Siren for the first time in my life. Wow! There are so many around but almost all behind the scene. Also Hellbender was great, I am glad this speceis is on show. The best place to photograph Chinese Giant Salamander (Prague Zoo doesnt allow any photographing at their exposition). I am not sure if its good for animals (probably not a lot) but I was happy. I could see them in detail, its wonderful species.

So, the Vivarium is awesome and I really recommand to visit this zoo.

Btw, I hope that Blue Poison Frog is species now. If not, I will delete this animal from my list.
Edit: It isnt, so I've delted it from my list.

WOW! Is this the largest single entry from one zoo?

Unfortunately, as stated a page or two earlier, the blue poison dart frog is not counted as a distinct species.

I wouldnt be suprised that it is. This collection is the best Ive seen. Maybe Zoo Berlin or Zoo Wroclaw has bigger but who knows? I spent hours in Vivarium there and I really enjoyed all terrariums and aquariums. Thanks to this contest, I focused on amphibians during this visit and I do not regret any second. I missed 4 species but the zoo keeps so many behind the scenes (too bad!).

I did say at the start of this challenge that anyone visiting Chemnitz would find it would increase their total very nicely indeed ;) :p

Broadly speaking it looks like the onshow amphibian collection is more or less the same as it was when I visited in September 2018, at which time I recorded the following comprehensive list:

On-show stocklist for Amphibian House as of 10/09/2018 [Tierpark Chemnitz]

Today I spend a rainy ( but beautifull ) day at Rotterdam Zoo and can add one more species to the Amphibian-challenge :

31 - Lake Patzcuaro salamander - Ambystoma dumerilii

    IMG_7326 Lake Patzcuaro salamander - Ambystoma dumerelii.jpg

Had seen it earlier this year but then behind the scenes - where it didn't cound for the Challenge but now a small group ( I counted 5 animals ) are on display in the Conservation Center.
