On sunday I spend a day at a rainy but beautifull Amsterdam Royal Zoo ( Artis ) and was happy to see the small but intresting Amphibian collection in one of the halls of the Aquarium. 2 of the species are new for the 2019-Challenge :

32 - Common spadefoot - Pelobates fuscus - 2 specimens seen but they were sitting in a very dark cormer of the enclosure and it was impossible to ake some decent pictures :(.
33 - Iberian ribbed newt - Pleurodeles waltl - one specimen seen and photographed but the glass of the enclosure was quite dirty so the picture is of very low quality :( :

Did you miss the Dart frog exhibition in one of the galleries close to the Kiang in Prague?

I don't think I've ever found that. On this visit I only had three hours so I didn't get anywhere near the kiangs.

I think it is just a temporal exhibition, but there was a nice range of especially Ranitomeya species and D. auritus morphs.

I've probably seen the two from the Shedd on previous visits but just hadn't noted them until this most recent visit. I'm hoping to hit a couple more large collections before the end of the year and get into the 70s or low 80s, but I'm not certain that will happen.

Yesterday spend a VERY rainy day at one of my former working-places : Pairi Daiza. At Pairi Daiza a small but intresting amphibian collection is kept at 3 different places :
    The Crypte

In the Chinese part of the park
Of a potential 6 new species I was able to see 3 new species for the Challenge :

    36 - Yellow-spotted newt - Neurergus crocatus

    20190924_145931 Yellow-spotted newt - Neurergus crocatus.jpg

    - Chinese giant salamander - Andrias davidianus in the Chinese part of the park
    - Andean marsupial tree-frog - Gastrotheca riobambae at the SS Mersus Emergo
    - Madagascar tomato frog - Dyscophus antongilii also at the SS Mersus Emergo
