San Diego keeps a number of species but due to poor record keeping the identifications are for the most part tentative and different sources indicate different species. I have contacted the zoo for more information only to be steered to their website, which is, of course, useless in this matter. Until further clarification is made through research or by the zoo, it would be best to get Galápagos tortoise points from other zoos.

The worst part is San Diego is the only zoo I've been to this year that has any of the species. It'll be one species for now until the situation is clarified.

Agreed - keep it one species for now but should you start to see pure individuals, remove it in favor of them.

@jayjds2 , I forgot to mention that I currently have a photo of a Galapagos tortoise from my visit to San Diego 7 months ago.
    Galapagos tortoise - ZooChat
I'm wondering if this is identifiable at species level for a slight update.

Philly visit was very rushed because I got there close to closing so I know I missed several species I would have otherwise been able to see. In any case, I hope to visit a few more major collections before the end of the year so I can reach a decent final total.

Yes, now you mention it - they had some red (or whatever we’ve got) lechwe, though I don’t recall how many.
