Today is a very interesting match up. Both of these zoos squashed their competitors in the first round without even trying, but now they spar against one another with a category they are both very strong in, primates. Disney has a superb gorilla exhibit that is one of the best in the nation, along with a very unique gibbon exhibit. Mandrills and colobus monkeys are also included. Omaha has Gorilla Valley and Orangutan Forest, two average and above average great ape habitats, plus multiple smaller species in the Lied Jungle building. Tomorrow: Miami vs Cleveland
Quick notes of interest: Disney has the only potential breeding group of lion-tailed macaque in North America, while Omaha has aye-aye and a collection of other lemurs in their Madagascar exhibit.
