Karlsruhe: Die possierlichen Erdmännchen sind zurück
A first-breeding for Karlsruhe and a second egg still being incubated .
I wonder if and by how far the new management had anything to do with this?! Anyway, a great development and much needed for maintaining this attractive smaller flamingo species in Europe (hope we are finally cracking the eggs ... with the recent hatchings here and there).
The egg hatched twleve 12 ago on August 5. Both chicks are doing well.
For sure, Dr.Reinschmidt isn't the father of the chicks
Seriously,I think,he has not very much do with it, because the Lesser Flamingos had eggs in the past regulary, but they were unfertilized.
OK, did not know that.
Anything down to bird husbandry or management?
What sex/age ratio do they have?
