This is Just a List of Zoos and Aquariums that don't Have Penguins, But I think they Need Penguins in their Collection. Aquarium of the Pacific Buffalo Zoo Cleveland MetroParks Zoo Houston Zoo Los Angeles Zoo Miami Seaquarium Oklahoma City Zoo Oregon Coast Aquarium Seattle Aquarium Smithsonian National Zoo Vancouver Aquarium Yes, I think that these Zoos and Aquariums need Penguins, do you agree?
Simple answer NO I don't agree becasue if every collection was the same you would be living in a very boring WORLD.
Penguins are getting expensive to feed (due to fish stocks being depleted) and I believe their facilities are expensive too (water filters and cooling systems). That might be why a lot of Zoos don't seem to have them. LP Zoo in Chicago actually needs to find new zoo homes for all their penguins and other marine birds due to reconstructing a new facility for them.
True on LPZ, the Penguin House was pretty poor. I did enjoy seeing my first chinstarp penguins, razorbill, and common murres there.
The LA Zoo had penguins (not sure if they were black-footed or Magellianic), but they were in an exhibit that allowed them to get eaten by coyotes. Update: Apparently the LA Zoo managed to kill 44 penguins in 10 years. I don't think that the LA Zoo should have any more penguins. http://articles.chicagotribune.com/...schobert-penguins-zoo-director-mark-goldstein
Thanks for that I thought it was just me struggling getting to grips, with why they needed to get Penguins.
I don't want to cast aspersions on anyone, but this is one in a long series of weird questions that is starting to seem more like internet trolling than genuine inquiries.
I think we just have another overly passionate young person. With any luck he'll become a member worth chatting with rather than a pest to be "ignored."
Agreed! I just hope we won't get another Fossa Dude/Cincyzoo man as I don't think I could handle another round of that.
Too be fair, this poster doesn't seem anywhere near as bad as the aforementioned other 2. we can but hope they mature pretty quickly though!
