Hallo fellow zoochatters. A lot of zoos might focus on one group of animals such as cats or primates etc.So i'm just interested.

So what wildlife collections currently hold the most species of one group of animals. For example, what zoo has the most species of felids, marmosets, tarantula's,doves or parrots,or marsupials and so on.?

This is no longer the case :( All of their animals must go to new homes in the next couple of weeks.

I think you are confused with the Zoo des 3 Vallées which was renamed to Zoo-Parc Des Felins, les 3 Vallées. That's the one that closed, not Le Parc Des Felins.

OH! Okay! The reports I've seen didn't mention the "les 3 Vallées" part, and I thought zoo parc des felins and le parc des felins would be the same place.

San Diego Zoo is the only zoo in the USA with all of panthera, plus cougar, cheetah, and clouded. Project Survival Cat Haven might have all 8, as well? Memphis, Philly, and St Louis have 7/8 (missing clouded), Tanganyika is missing cougar.

I've just noticed that it has 5 species. I didn't notice the 2 subspecies of P. ruber. Slimbridge has 6 species.

That’s due to the new « No-doublon » thing in Berlin. Up to one year ago Zoo Berlin still had the full species.

Tierpark probably has the best Deer collection also, 14 taxons I believe.

AFAIK, there’s only six species of flamingos. :p
    Chilean
    Caribbean
    James’
    Andean
    Lesser
    Greater

Unless Berlin is hiding a secret species of flamingo unheard to the animal community :p

I’m sure someone somewhere has a collection of dozens of Varanus species, but it might be a private collection as opposed to a zoo.

Berlin Zoo or Dvúr Králove has the best collection of antelopes and gazelles in Europe.
Berlin Zoo has 17 taxa( Kirk's dikdik, Sable, Blesbok, Springbok, Scimitar oryx, Gemsbok, Greater kudu, Blackbuck, Bongo, Nyala, Waterbuck(maybe defassa), Kafue lechwe, Gerenuk, Red duiker, Situtunga, Eland)! I don't remember to Dvúr's numbers, but I think it's around 15-20, too.
