That's not a Cheiromeles unfortunately. If you have a look on Google Images there are, for some reason, lots of taxidermy bats on sale labeled as "Hairless Bats" - most look to actually be horseshoe bats. The one in your photo is probably one of the nectar bats (Eonycteris), but with a dried-out specimen it is difficult to tell. It is definitely not a Naked Bat though - for one thing it is covered in fur.

Sorry @Chlidonias ! Just saw the sign below the specimen and thought the person who "made" it would know with what he / she was working. Wrong thought and again sorry.

Eleven new species of bats have been added into the thread courtesy of @Giant Eland representing ten new genera and three new families, so a pretty productive addition.

Greater Mouse-tailed Bat Rhinopoma microphyllum, first representative of the family Rhinopomatidae - post #40 here: The Zoochat Photographic Guide to Bats

Thumbless Bat Furipterus horrens, first representative of the family Furipteridae - post #56 here: The Zoochat Photographic Guide to Bats

Pigmy Round-eared Bat Lophostoma brasiliense - post #72 here: The Zoochat Photographic Guide to Bats

Common Big-eared Bat Micronycteris microtis - post number #73 here: The Zoochat Photographic Guide to Bats

Striped Yellow-eared Bat Vampyriscus nymphaea - post #83 here: The Zoochat Photographic Guide to Bats

Mexican Greater Funnel-eared Bat Natalus mexicanus, first representative of the family Natalidae - post #93 here: The Zoochat Photographic Guide to Bats

Grey Sac-winged Bat Balantiopteryx plicata and Thomas' Shaggy Bat Centronycteris centralis - both in post #102 here: The Zoochat Photographic Guide to Bats

Short-eared Bat Cyttarops alecto - post #103 here: The Zoochat Photographic Guide to Bats

Northern Ghost Bat Diclidurus albus - post #104 here: The Zoochat Photographic Guide to Bats

And Kuhl's Pipistrelle Pipistrellus kuhlii (the only one which is from a genus already represented in the thread) - post #124 here: The Zoochat Photographic Guide to Bats

That was a good set of additions. All five species were new for the thread, and three were new genera as well (Macronycteris, Triaenops, Coleura). Of the other two genera, Miniopterus had only one species in the thread previously, and Nycteris only had two species represented.

These were also your first photos used in this thread.

Happy to help! I have some additional bat photos of a couple more species that still need to be identified and I can hopefully add once I know what they are. There's a possibility one is an undescribed species, but it'll be a while before there's any confirmation on that.

I was in Vanuatu a couple of months ago and while there I had hoped to get a photo of the endemic Vanuatu Flying Fox Pteropus anetianus. I didn't manage to succeed in this, or so I thought - today while checking through my photos again I found one which had an individual of this species in a roost of Pacific Flying Foxes P. tonganus, which I managed to clean up enough to post.

The photo isn't going to win any prizes, but it is the 173rd bat species depicted in this thread (and the 22nd species of Pteropus, which means about a third of the species from this genus are depicted in the Zoochat galleries):

Recently @Najade has uploaded a whole lot of bat photos from the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica. I have added all the relevant ones into the thread, totaling 29 new species and ten new genera.

That brings the total of bat species depicted to 202 (out of about 1300), and the number of genera to 100 (representing almost half of the 217 genera I have used in the thread, which is a quite surprising result). Obviously the number of species and genera (and families) is pretty fluid depending of which taxonomic sources you might follow.

The photos can all be seen in the country galleries below:

https://www.zoochat.com/community/media/categories/dominican-republic-wildlife.3343/ (two new species - Brachyphylla nana and Erophylla bombifrons)

    Noctilionidae:
    Lesser Bulldog Bat Noctilio albiventris

    Phyllostomidae:
Cuban Fruit-eating Bat Brachyphylla nana (new genus)
    Gray's Long-tongued Bat Glossophaga leachii
Underwood's Long-tongued Bat Hylonycteris underwoodi (new genus)
    Brown Flower Bat Erophylla bombifrons
Tricoloured Big-eared Bat Glyphonycteris sylvestris (new genus)
Tomes' Sword-nosed Bat Lonchorhina aurita (new genus)
    Schmidt's Big-eared Bat Micronycteris schmidtorum
    Northern Big-eared Bat Micronycteris tresamici
    Honduran Fruit-eating Bat Artibeus inopinatus
    Intermediate Fruit-eating Bat Artibeus intermedius*

    Small-toothed Yellow-shouldered Bat Sturnira parvidens
Northern Little Yellow-eared Bat Vampyressa thyone (new genus)

    Vespertilionidae:
    Argentine Brown Bat Eptesicus furinalis
    Southern Yellow Bat Lasiurus ega
Thomas' Yellow Bat Rhogeessa io (new genus)
Central American Hairy-legged Bat Myotis pilosatibialis
    Riparian Mouse-eared Bat Myotis riparius

*There is confusion in the bat literature over whether the Intermediate Fruit-eating Bat Artibeus intermedius and the Great Fruit-eating Bat Artibeus lituratus are the same species or two species, so I have used photos by @Najade from Costa Rica labeled for both but have combined them under the same heading.

Another new species for the thread has been added to the galleries, with a very nice photo of a Little Forest Bat Vespadelus vulturnus by @Hix

    Little Forest Bat - ZooChat

There are now 207 species of 100 genera depicted here. When the thread was originally completed, in August 2018, there were photos of just 95 species of 55 genera in the Zoochat galleries.
