To round out the coverage of primates in these photographic/taxonomic guides, this thread will cover the various members of the Platyrrhini; however, I will be tackling the group in a style closer to my carnivore threads and the Old World Primate thread by @Chlidonias - with a post for each genus, rather than each species - rather than the style found in my Prosimian thread.

This is mostly because I've decided the former style works better for these threads, but also because finding a way to describe the range of each species was getting a little time-consuming and frustrating :p

This lineage comprises five extant families:

CALLITRICHIDAE - 48 extant species across six genera

CEBIDAE - 14 extant species across three genera

AOTIDAE - 11 extant species within a single genus

PITHECIIDAE - 56 extant species within four genera

ATELIDAE - 29 extant species within five genera

Interesting - looking at the identification charts for Saddleback Tamarins visible via Google Images, deriving from this paper, it looks like it could also be Cruz Lima's Saddleback:

....and that is the Callitrichidae completed; I'm honestly quite pleasantly surprised at how well-represented the group is in the Zoochat gallery beyond the handful of "mainstay" species.

As usual, a list of species which are still unrepresented follows in the hope that it may encourage anyone who does have photographs of any of them to upload these to the Zoochat gallery:

    Buffy-headed Marmoset Callithrix flaviceps
    Rio Acarí Marmoset Mico acariensis
    Emilia's Marmoset Mico emiliae
    Roosmalens' Dwarf Marmoset Mico humilis
    Hershkovitz's Marmoset Mico intermedius
    White Marmoset Mico leucippe
    Marca's Marmoset Mico marcai
    Maués Marmoset Mico mauesi
    Black-headed Marmoset Mico nigriceps
    Sateré Marmoset Mico saterei
Cruz Lima's Saddleback Tamarin Saguinus cruzlimai
    Lesson's Saddleback Tamarin Saguinus fuscus
    Geoffroy's Saddleback Tamarin Saguinus nigrifrons
    Golden-mantled Saddleback Tamarin Saguinus tripartitus
    Martins's Tamarin Saguinus martinsi
    Superagui Lion Tamarin Leontopithecus caissara

However, before I move onto the next family of New World Primates - the Cebidae - I will shortly conclude my coverage of the Callitrichidae with a bonus post highlighting a variety of hybrid individuals, given how relatively-easily members of this group tend to interbreed.
